Shelby L. Bryant
Vinemaker
By the cedar trees near the sea
Minerva pressed her bosom to the rock
And cajoled forth a jasmined fountain, sweet
and pure known as "The Vinemaker."
A cacophony of laughing sound from the fountain
pervades the shores.
A calendo forms from the black crows calls.
The waters are vicariously routed down the grey
slopes that produce
The black grapes and wine which
Fuel the cups of Roman concubines.
