A Far Away City

I once dreamed of sitting on a park bench, in a far away city.
It was Sunday morning, a beautiful day.
The silence was only broken by the chiming of
distant church bells across the way.
Sitting in a daze, while pigeons cooed at my feet.
I discovered the sound of horse and buggy,
clip, clopping down a cobblestone street.
The buggy paused at the end of the street.
And there near the rose garden, was a young man,
appearing somewhat discreet.
He was dressed in black pants and vest,
and a Stetson hat, with a gold watch and chain,
black patent shoes and a gold tip cane.
And from behind the rose garden fence,
appeared a young lady, all dressed in red,
with long black hair blowing in the breeze.
He kissed her hand, dropped to his knees.
Was I about to witness a proposal?
That's when I woke up.
Oh well, I think it was New Orleans, or maybe England!
