Crying

If you would study crying
You must consider
Why certain old people cry
At the funerals of strangers.

If you would study crying
You must consider
Why certain children cry
On their birthdays.

If you would study crying
You must consider lonliness
And why certain girls
Stare at the pattern of shadows on the tracks
As the train enters the station.
