One Piece by Bryan M. Huizi

Unique, for Annalee

Her syllables
break the threads of static
into a simple currency,
basic colors, like a negative rainbow.
She and I
once wandered historic avenues
searching for our own legacy.
We bent bridges to create new destinations,
ignited cathedrals
to have a sacred light to dance by.
As tears stained my pillow,
an exhausted speech from other people's accusations
she placed cherry blossom lips upon me
whispered that stars are only
noticeable because they
don't blend in to the standard sky.

One Poem by Frank S. LeRose

In Self Focus

I exist in the silence
after the song,
when reality slips in
and if I cry
it's just for me.

{Poem by Frank S. LeRose}

One Poem by Ed Beller

Crying

If you would study crying
You must consider
Why certain old people cry
At the funerals of strangers.

If you would study crying
You must consider
Why certain children cry
On their birthdays.

If you would study crying
You must consider lonliness
And why certain girls
Stare at the pattern of shadows on the tracks
As the train enters the station.

{Poem by Ed Beller}

One Piece by Derrick Harrison Hurd

The Fairy Queen

When last I saw the fairy queen
arrayed in brightest green finery
I hid and feared of what on earth
the tiny sprite would ever make of me

"Come with me, see far off lands"
bid she with fairy-slender hands
"We'll fly o'er fields
swim amber streams,
make garlands out of children's dreams"

But...
stand I still
as I stood here then
and never trod the fairy glenn...
Nor ever again
such a since have I seen
as once....just once,,,
.I saw the fairy queen

For Gabriel and the rest of the heavenly host

{Poem by Derrick Harrison Hurd}
